Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi on Sunday visited the volatile Mombasa region following the Bamburi attacks that left several residents seriouly injured.
During his visit, Matiang’ i opened police posts at Falcon and Concordia in Nyali in a bid to beef up security in the region.
He also installed a police officer in charge of Mwatamba police station, tasking him with the responsibility of sourcing for the police officers to operate under him and allocated the facility a police vehicle.
The CS also had a consultative meeting with the leaders of Mombasa County at the regional headquarters on the state of security in region.
He also tasked the county commissioner Evans Achok with a responsibility of installing a chief at Kadzandani.
“The county commissioner must make sure Kadzandani has a fully installed chief,” said Matiang’ i.
This comes a week after a machete-wielding gang terrorised residents of Kwa Bulo, Bamburi Mwisho, Bombolulu and Kisimani in Mombasa county, raising security concerns
