One arrested in Nyandarua with elephant tusks worth Sh10m

One person was on Saturday arrested with 100 kilograms of elephant tusks worth Sh10 million in Nyandarua County.

The suspect, identified as David Ndegwa, was nabbed by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations who were posing as potential customers.

Ndegwa was arrested following a tip-off from members of the public, who have launched campaigns aimed at addressing the poaching menace in Kenya.

Meanwhile, the detectives have launched manhunt for Ndegwa’s accomplice who escaped.

Kenya Wildlife Service officers are working in collaboration with DCI to see to it that poaching becomes a thing of the past.
