Kenya’s gospel artist James Ngaita Ngigi popularly known as Jimmy Gait has travelled to India for specialized treatment.
Gait was spotted by a local journalist at the departure lodge of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) moments before he boarded an Ethiopian Airlines flight for India.
The singer had early on announced that he will be travelling to India for specialized treatment following his doctors’ advice.
Speaking on a local radio station last week, Gait revealed he had a condition known as throat inflammation.
The musician said he has been struggling with the condition for the last two years.
“I developed some issue with my throat, some kind of blockage and I went to Aga Khan hospital where I was treated, but after three weeks the problem resurfaced,” said Gait.
According to him, he will be in India for 15 to 21 days where he will be operated on after fresh tests.
The musician complained of feeling a lot of pain while singing and talking to a point of crying.
Gait admitted, at one point he got scared of being diagnosed with throat cancer.
