Joseph Ndegwa Ngari has moved one step closer to achieving his dream of becoming the country’s next top journalist. This is after he rubbed shoulders with his role model, news anchor Jeff Koinange.
The 11-year-old from Narok personified confidence as he was featured on Jeff Koinange Live on Wednesday night.
From his countenance to posture and even putting a hand on his waist, signature Jeff Koinange style, Joseph was evidently prepared to wow his role model and ended up charming netizens as well.
He made his debut to the limelight after a video of him imitating Koinange aired on TV47’s kids show Watoto Mashinani.
The clip was later shared on social media and went viral, prompting Koinange’s team to get in touch with him.
He opened up about his admiration for the anchor and his dreams of becoming a media heavyweight in the future, even joking that he was ready to take over ‘the bench’ should Jeff step down.
Joseph’s rise to stardom comes a few weeks after another young girl wowed the nation with her suave journalistic skills on TV47’s Sauti Yetu show.
The 12-year-old girl went live on air from Kibra during the November 7 by-election and did a splendid reporting job, testament of the fact that TV47 is dedicated to nurturing young talent.
Sauti Yetu show tells stories from Kibra as narrated by a group of 11 young aspiring journalists and airs every Saturday from 9:30 am.
