DCI arrests suspect in Sh300 million fake gold scam

The Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives on Monday, May 18 arrested a key suspect involved in a Sh300 million fake gold scam.

In a statement, the DCI thanked members of the public, who had provided crucial information that let to arrest of Dillon Kibet.

Another suspect, Rose Omamo Adhiambo, is still at large with the DCI appealing to the public to also provide any information that will lead to her arrest.

“We wish to thank members of the public for availing information that has led to the arrest of Mr Dillon Kibet who was wanted in connection with a 3,000,000 USD FAKE Gold Scam,” tweeted the DCI.

Kibet and Adhiambo are among a gang of criminals who have already been arrested, suspected to have defrauded an individual Sh300 million.

The manhunt for the two suspects started in February 2020 after the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Milimani issued their warrant of arrest.
