James Kifo Muriuki, the man who was arrested for allegedly stuffing pepper, salt and super glue into his wife’s private parts, will undergo psychiatric assessment before his bail ruling.
Muriuki, who is currently being detained at the Embu GK Prison, will know his bail application fate on June 19.
Prosecution side had applied to have him denied bail.
The 30-Year-Old was arrested on Thursday, May 21 by a team of DCI detectives from Special Crime Unit from his hideout at Kaningo in Kitui County.
The arrest was made after shocking reports hit the headlines last week when his wife Charity Wairimu reported to the police of how he lured her in the dead of the night to river Kathita, where he ordered her to strip naked and tell him about all the men she has slept with while he was in Nairobi.
“She hesitated and he started beating her while threatening to kill her with a knife he was holding. At last she removed her clothes and the suspect sprayed pepper, salt and superglue on her vagina,” reads Wairimu’s report to the police.
Muriuki then allegedly went on to seal her ears and mouth with superglue and sand, and left her at the scene, before fleeing.
DCI said “the suspect will be charged accordingly once necessary police procedure is complete.”
