Kenya has recorded 497 new Covid-19 cases out of 4,171 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of cases in the country to 27,425.
The total number of samples taken so far stands at 362,501.
Out of the 497 cases, 467 are Kenyans while 30 are foreigners, 312 are males while 185 are females.
The youngest is a 6 months-old-infant while the oldest is an 80-year-old.
CAS. Dr. Mercy Mwangagi: Nairobi is leading with coronavirus infections and as of yesterday it has reported a total of 16,196.
It is followed by Mombasa with 2,154, Kiambu with 1,964 cases, Kajiado with 1,514 cases, and Machakos with 971.
372 patients have recovered from COVID-19, 315 from home-based care programs while 57 discharged from various health care facilities in the country. Total recoveries stand at 13,867.
CAS Mwangangi: 15 patients have succumbed to COVID-19, the total number of deaths stands at 438. 11 of them had other underlying conditions.
