Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Brazil international Willian ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The 32-year-old left Chelsea this week after his contract with the Blues expired, ending a seven-year illustrious career at Chelsea.
Willian has signed a three-year deal to join Chelsea’s London rivals.
The Gunners manager Mikel Arteta was full of praise for Willian, noting the wingers goal threat, character and ability to play in tighter spaces and unlocking his teammates as one of the key reasons Arsenal went for him.
“It is the character that I want. The kind of player that when things get difficult in the game that wants to take responsibility, wants the ball and wants to win the game for the team,” said Arteta.
Willian Joined Chelsea in 2013 from Anzhi Makhachkala. Since then, he has made 339 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 63 goals and assisting 56 goals.
Willian featured 47 times in all competition in 2019/20 season, notching 11 goals.
