A 28-year-old man who is the prime suspect in the murder of his father has been arrested after surrendering himself to police.
Sospeter Kinyanjui, the Late Charles Thairu Kinyanjui eldest son, has been on the run ever since the murder of the 59-year-old man that took place in Barnabas area in Nakuru.
Fellow suspects; his 48-year-old mother, his brother and sister aged 23 and 24 years respectively, have been in police custody.
According to the DCI, the nuclear family was arrested after detectives found inconsistencies in the circumstances surrounding the murder.
How did Charles Thairu die?
The deceased was found in a pool of blood in his car that was parked outside the gate to his home.
The detectives, however, read mischief because there were blood stains in one of the bedrooms whoch someone had attempted to clean.
The wife, son and daughter had allegedly found their father unconscious and rushed him to Mediheal Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. They were immediately arrested for interrogations, with the eldest son disappearing.
“Upon his surrender and interrogations, detectives proceeded to Ndimu Ndege area within Bahati sub-county in Nakuru where the suspect disposed the murder weapons & burned his bloodstained clothes,” tweeted the DCI.
Several exhibits were recovered including two metal rods, a bloodstained iron file, remains of burnt clothes, several syringes and a cash savings tin.
Suspect have been booked in cells as further investigations continue.
