October 13 is a day set aside every year by women in the world in which they are encouraged to forgo wearing a bra in order to create breast cancer awareness and to encourage gender equality.
Our very own, Senator Millicent Omanga was not left behind in commemorating this day. She posted a picture of herself on Facebook in a beautiful dress without a bra which she captioned, “Today is No Bra Day, leading by example, I want to encourage my fellow ladies to forgo wearing a bra to encourage Breast Cancer awareness and show support to survivors.”
You might be asking yourself what the significance of not wearing a bra is. Many breast cancer survivors are usually unable to wear a bra as they usually have a prosthesis as a result of breast amputation.
With the world now as it is being a global village as a result of social media, women are encouraged to post their pictures online using the hashtag #NOBRADAY.
Our heart goes out to every breast cancer survivor and everyone who has been affected by breast cancer. We shall defeat cancer one day!
