Raila Odinga in Jerusalema dance with Gor Mahia fans

  • Millions around the world have taken the now popular ‘Jerusalema Challenge’.
  • Dressed in a dark suit, Raila “let loose and shook a leg” with Gor Mahia team members and fans.
  • Team is preparing for November 20 season-opener.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has also taken the Jerusalema challenge, in an age-defying jig alongside Gor Mahia fans and players.

Dressed in a dark suit, Raila “let loose and shook a leg” moments after he oversaw the handover of Two Rivers Mall Sports District to Gor Mahia yesterday. The team will us the District as their training ground this season.

Raila’s moves were lively and well coordinated. The 75-year-old shook a leg with gusto, clapping, tapping the grey-and-white pavement, hands akimbo, twisting his hips. Age is nothing but a number.

Billionaire businessman Chris Kirubi, proprietor of the Two Rivers Mall, also took part in the dance challenge.

Millions of people and corporate entities around the world have taken the now popular ‘Jerusalema Challenge’.

The simple dance moves originated from December 2019 hit ‘Jerusalema’ by South African gospel artiste Master KG.

Last week, Gor Mahia unveiled a new coach, the Brazilian Oliveira ‘Robertinho’ Goncalves. This was after the departure of title-winning Steven Polack. The team will face arch-rivals Tusker FC on November 20 for the 2020/21 season opener.

“I urge more corporate entities to support local sports teams especially community clubs,” said Raila.
