Victor Wanyama sues socialite Shakilla and Xtian Dela, court sets hearing date

  • 19-year-old socialite Shakilla claims to have bedded more than 15 Kenyan celebs, Victor Wanyama being one of them.
  • Wanyama has denied the claims, insisting that he has never met Shakilla.
  • Shakilla and Dela are expected to appear in court on 10th November 2020.

Kenyan footballer Victor Wanyama has sued socialite Shakilla and blogger Arthur Mandela, popularly known as Xtian Dela.

According to a lawsuit seen by TV47 Digital, the Montreal Impact midfielder filed the case at Milimani High Court on 6th October, making good on his threat to sue the duo for “scandalising his good name and reputation”.

In the civil suit, Shakilla and Xtian Dela are the 1st and 2nd Defendants respectively. The court has set a hearing on 10th November 2020 at 9 am.

The genesis of Wanyama’s lawsuit

During a live video with blogger Xtian Dela, the 19-year-old claimed to have bedded more than 25 Kenyan celebrities. On the list of those men Shakilla claims to have had sex with, she claims that Victor Wanyama is one of them.

In a strongly-worded statement posted on his twitter handle, Wanyama refuted those claims. In fact, he insists that he has never met Shakilla.

Wanyama insists that the contents of the video that was trending on social media in late September are false and fabricated.

Maintaining that the allegations are fictitious and clearly meant to boost online audience for both the socialite and Xtian Dela, the former Tottenham Hotspurs star promised to seek legal redress to protect his character and standing in the society.

“I am prepared to go to great lengths to protect my good name and character. Consequently, I have instructed my legal team to pursue ALL legal remedies available to me and to which I have the unreserved right to seek,” said Wanyama in the statement.
