‘Enough of tormenting me & my innocent kids!’ Ex-NASA CEO Magaya opens up

He was famous, depending on which side of the coin you pledged allegiance to during the 2017 General Election, when he was heading the secretariat of the Opposition coalition, the National Super Alliance (NASA).

The tough-talking, brazen Norman Magaya did not mince words when it came to expressing his disapproval and dislike towards the ruling Jubilee coalition.

Then soon after the conclusion of October 26, 2017, repeat presidential election that declared UhuRuto winners, the NASA chief executive officer was dealt a blow when his nomination to the East African Legislative Assembly was rejected in the National Assembly.

At the time, Magaya said that he was locked out of the regional assembly representation because of his hard-line stance against what he said was “a corrupt Jubilee administration” which enjoyed an absolute majority in Parliament. A principled Magaya insisted that he will not beg for favours.

After the ordeal, Magaya went silent and it will be fair to say that some Kenyans had even forgotten about his existence, the country has since moved on and the two political nemeses (President Uhuru Kenyatta and then NASA leader Raila Odinga) have shaken hands and are now strong allies like never before.

Magaya was last seen in public in September 2019 when he was about to fly to India for specialised treatment, after surviving a heart attack.

On Monday, November 2020 Magaya took to micro-blogging site Twitter to open up about the miserable life he has been living. Magaya shared disturbing and ambiguous tweets on his Twitter handle, tweets that revealed that he nearly gave up on life.

Still trying to maintain his usual demeanour, Magaya said he is sharing the message not seeking sympathy nor support!

“Important to note that all my job applications on Kenya miserably fail because of my political stand point ! Long may it continue for I have no intention to change my political affiliation soon! But the conditions you visit on me today will haunt you to death!” says Magaya.
