Police in Nakuru on Wednesday, November 11 arrested nine notorious cocaine trafficking suspects at Bondeni estate.
The detectives acting on public tip-off managed to seize 150 sachets of the drugs believed to have a street value of Sh75,000.
Confirming the incidence, Nakuru Town East Deputy County Commissioner Eric Wanyonyi said the suspects are part of a network of drug peddlers operating within the region.
Wanyonyi said police were also able to nab 1 kilogram of bhang from the suspects.
Police will interrogate the suspects to dig more information that will help them arrest the drug lord.
Advice to Parents
The police boss called upon parents to ensure they monitor their children’s movements closely, as may of them in the informal settlements fall into drug abuse.
Drug trafficking and other criminal activities have been on the rise in Nakuru, with police exuding confidence that their operations will yield positive results.
On her part, Nakuru Town East Sub-County Commander Ellena Kabukuru said they will not tire until the drug menace in the area is fully addressed.
She called on parents to ensure their children engage in constructive activities as a number of school-going children are still at home since schools were indefinitely closed in March.
