Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives based in Ugunja town in Siaya County have rescued a woman and her 2-year-old daughter who went missing one week ago.
The 20-year-old woman and her daughter were staying at a relatives’ house at Siaya’s Sindindi area days before their mysterious disappearance.
Acting on intelligence, the sleuths raided two separate houses within Luanda Township where the two victims had been confined by a gang of five abductors.
The five suspects, aged between 18 and 29 years, were nabbed by detectives during the rescue operation.
The suspects include an 18-year-old woman who kept custody of the 2-year-old girl, she was held separately over unestablished motives.
“A Toyota Premio which was used for the November 2 abduction was also recovered,” says DCI.
Further investigations are ongoing as detectives believe that the gang is behind a series of violent robberies reported within the County.
