All schools will reopen fully on January 4 2021, this is according to the Ministry of Education.
In a statement from Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha, the ministry said that after a consultative meeting with all stakeholders, it was decided that all learners in basic education learning institutions resume school in on January.
The January 4 date, the ministry says, applies to all continuing PP1 and 2; Grade 1, 2 and 3; Class 5,6 and 7; and Form 1,2, and 3 learners.
The ministry also announced that Pre Primary 1 & 2; Grade 1, 2 & 3; Class 5, 6 & 7; and Form 1, 2 & 3 learners will start their Term 2 on 4th January, 2021 and end on 19th March 2021 together with the Grade 4 and candidate classes (Class 8 and Form 4).
To give room for the 2020 KCPE and KCSE examinations administration and marking (which starts in 22 March 2021), all learners, except Class 8 and Form 4 candidates, will proceed on a 7-week holiday.
