Migori Stadium perimeter wall that separates the facility from the County Referral Hospital may soon collapse if a proper water drainage system will not be installed.
The wastewater from the hospital’s morgue that is not channeled to a septic tank, combined with the continuous heavy rains in the region are threatening to bring down the 200-metre wall section.
Migori County Municipal member Joseph Nyambori said Public Health Department at the referral hospital needs to move fast and construct a modern septic tank to accommodate the wastewater from the hospital.
Nyambori is now calling on the department to propose a budget that will accommodate a high-end sewerage system at the hospital as well as a proper drainage system for rainwater.
He said County Municipal Management at the county stadium is working with the health department to ensure the wall separating them is not ruined by water.
