In 2004, a 16-year-old boy who had just dropped out of high school (Form Two) travelled to Naivasha in search of greener pastures.
Little did Samuel Mwangi know that the path he had taken would land him in jail for 15 years.
Born and bred in Kamuchege village, Githunguri, Kiambu County, Mwangi attended Kamuchege Primary School. After standard 5, he was transferred to a Naivasha school, to complete his primary education.
After writing his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams, he joined Gathanji Secondary School but dropped out in Form Two, after falling into bad company.
The hunky lad feel into the hands of a well-endowed woman who showered him with love and cash. It was the beginning of the end of his freedom as he knew it, and a run in with the authorities that thrust him in the cooler for 15 years.
