Police in Kiangiri Village, Murang’a County, have arrested a middle aged woman for allegedly trafficking minors for sex.
According to sources which claimed anonymity, the suspect has been drugging underage girls, mostly Form Three girls, to stupefy them, before inviting men to molest them.
The police are also looking for two more suspects who are believed to be members of a sex trafficking syndicate that has been terrorising girls in the village.
According to Kenya’s Counter-Trafficking in Persons Act, a person who is found culpable of sex trafficking and forced labour risk a life imprisonment or KSh30 million fine.
