Jamaican artist Busy Signal has responded to ODM party leader, Raila Odinga’s tweet of him listening to his song “Reggae Music Again”.
Raila had on Wednesday, February 24 morning treated his followers to a ‘cheeky’ tweet.
“I woke up to Busy Signal’s- REGGAE MUSIC AGAIN HIT.. “Peace and love for every day” What are you listening to?” tweeted Raila.
The tweet was preceded by the ‘Super Tuesday’, a day that saw county assemblies that passed the BBI Bill pass the 24 county constitutional requirement for a referendum.
Raila has been using the slogan and song of South African Reggae legend, Lucky Dube, “Nobody Can Stop Reggae”, to drum up support for BBI across the country.
Likening BBI to Reggae music which nobody can stop, Raila insisted that nobody can stop BBI from being implemented, chiding his opponents that the initiative will pass whether they like it or not.
Although Raila did not tag the Jamaican artist, a humbled Busy Signal realised that a top Kenyan leader was listening to his song, and he was grateful.
The Free Up hitmaker replied with two folded hands emojis to show peace, a gorilla and a raised fist emoji.
Raila’s tweet has since sparked a total of 15,000 likes , 2900 retweets and 2200 replies.
Kenyans will now head to a referendum by June after the bill get endorsed by more than 40 county assemblies.
