Deputy President (DP) William Ruto’s wife, Rachael Ruto, on Friday, February 26 led her primary school alumni group in gifting a former teacher with a car.
Mrs Ruto joined fellow alumni of Likuyani Primary School in visiting former headteacher Mr Naftali Olasya at his home in Likuyani Constituency, Kakamega County.

“Mr Olasya was a stern, firm and reputable teacher who shaped our childhood years to make sure we succeeded.
“We condoled with his family following the loss of their daughter Bolivia Ambuka Olasya and gifted [him] a car to thank him for the countless years he gave of his life and service,” said Mrs Ruto.
In a similar fashion, the alumni association also bought current Likuyani Primary headteacher, Mr Alfred Odanga, with a motorcycle.
Area MP Enoch Kibunguchy and area MCA Brian Mafunga were present.
Mrs Ruto has been lauded for his philanthropic work, especially in empowering women.
She is the patron of Joyful Women Orgnisation (JOYWO). Mrs Ruto founded JOYWO in 2009 to boost the financial stability of women.
JOYWO provides financial resources to women to engage in livelihood projects through a scheme known as Table Banking.
Over the years, it has grown tremendously with members spread across all 47 counties in Kenya.
