Two dogs violently stolen from U.S singer Lady Gaga’s dog walker have been returned safely.
The two French bulldogs named Koji and Gustav were found tied to a pole and returned by an unidentified woman to Gaga’s staff.
The momentary disappearance of the dogs saw the entertainment world go, well, gaga, especially over the reward money the multi-millionaire singer was willing to give for their safe return: $500,000 (Ksh55million).
Gaga, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, had written on Instagram that her “heart is sick and I am praying my family will be whole again with an act of kindness.”
Now, let’s forget about Gaga’s sick heart for while and consider what the reward money she was offering can do locally. At Ksh900,000 a unit, Ksh55m can buy you 61 units of Toyota Probox, Kenya’s “road uniform”. A member of parliament earns about Ksh1 million a month, meaning Gaga can bankroll a legislature’s pay through one election cycle.
“You risked your life to fight for our family,” enthused Gaga to her dog walker when the canines were found. “You’re forever a hero.”
Besides singing, the 35 year old has also had an illustrious career as a songwriter and actress. She has had five studio albums debuting on US Billboard 200 and is believed to be worth at least $320m (Ksh35billion)
