Learning activities have been disrupted at Riruta Primary School in Dagoretti, Nairobi County, after a fire incident.
Reports indicate that seven classrooms at the school were destroyed after fire broke out on Sunday, February 28.
The school headteacher Agnes Muchiri says the fire broke out after a faulty electrical outlet.
It took several hours to put out the fire fortunately, there was no casualty.
On Monday morning, learners were given counseling sessions just to assure them that everything is okay.
Muchiri is now calling upon the government to help the school get new desks as well as repairing the burnt classrooms.
About 300 desks were destroyed. Pupils have been forced to squeeze in other classrooms that were not destroyed. They are now sharing desks too,” said Muchiri.
