Eastlands most wanted criminal was on Monday evening killed in a shootout with police.
Abbas, who is part of a dreaded criminal gang that has been terrorising residents within the area was gunned down after daring the police.
He was a pillion passenger on a motorcycle without a number plate along Kangundo Road.
Police on patrol flagged down the motorcycle but instead of pulling over, hard-headed Abbas drew a gun and started shooting.
Only that this time round, the dreaded criminal was not shooting at innocent civilians. Police responded swiftly, killing Abbas on the spot.
The driver of the motorcycle was forced to abandon his motorcycle and run for his dear life. Police are in hot pursuit of the rider.
“One Glock pistol suspected to have been stolen from a Police Officer, three live rounds of 9mm caliber, and 11 other live ammunitions of different caliber were recovered indicating that the suspect might have been in possession of another firearm,” says the DCI.
It is believed that Abbas was a dangerous criminal connected to a spate of murders within Buru Buru, Kayole and Dandora areas.
Abbas is also connected to the shooting of a woman in Kariobangi few months ago. She was lucky to survive.
