Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro have been arrested over the recent by-election chaos.
The lawmakers were arrested after surrendering themselves to police on Monday morning.
Malala surrendered himself at the Kakamega DCI offices at around 9:30 am. This comes after he was summoned over the Matungu parliamentary by-election chaos.

On his part, Osoro was arrested after surrendering at the Kisii Divisional DCI headquarters. Osoro has been on the run since Thursday, when chaos were witnessed during the Kiamokama ward by-election.
Osoro, whose car had been impounded by police on the poll day, was accompanied by his lawyers MP Alice Wahome (Kandara), MP Gladys Shollei (Uasin Gishu) and Wilkins Ochoki.
The Director of Public Prosecution has since written to Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to investigate the chaos witnessed during the mini-polls, and present a report to him within 30 days.
In the by-elections, ANC’s Peter Oscar Nabulindo and ODM’s David Aoko Were won the Matungu MP and Kiamokama ward seats respectively.
