CCTV footage has emerged of yesterday’s accident in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay county, in which a man was killed and four others seriously injured.
A runaway trailer truck barreled towards a petrol station as people run helter-skelter, before landing onto parked cars and motorcycles.

The dead was a 34-year-old man who was decapitated as the truck came to a halt. Tobias Aduda, area Chief, said the lorry lost control as its driver was trying to negotiate a corner to join the Kendu Bay – Katito road.
It was reportedly transporting building materials from Got-Nyango in Oyugis town. “Those who sustained injuries were trying to escape when they were hit with stones. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,” said Aduda.

Sarah Chumo, Rachuonyo North police commander, said they are investigating the accident.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kendu Bay Adventist hospital mortuary, who those who were injured received treatment at various facilities.
