A local radio station has suspended two presenters and a disc jockey following a public outcry over comments they made live on air.
Homeboyz Radio distanced itself from remarks by Shaffie Weru, Neville, and DJ Joe Mfalme, in a statement issued yesterday. “Homeboyz Radio does not condone sexual assault, violence against women, victim shaming and any actions by men who do not respect women’s choices and their voices,” General Manager Somoina Kimojino said.
The controversial remarks by the trio surrounded the misfortunes of a lady named Eunice Wangari who was reportedly shoved from the 12th floor of a building by a man whose sexual advances she’d rejected.
The trio was suspended for two weeks.
