Grief has engulfed a village in Mbooni East, Makueni County, after a man killed his two children, before committing suicide.
Residents of Kaseve village in Nduluku location woke up to the rude shock on Wednesday after finding the bodies of the children, aged nine and four years, lying in one of the rooms in their three-bedroomed house.
Neighbours later found the body of the man dangling from a tree within his farm.
Nduluku location chief Jeremiah Makau told The Standard that the mother of the children was not at home when the incident happened. She resides in Mlolongo, Machakos County.
It is alleged that the father did the heinous act after a row with his wife.
“The bodies of the children were found inside the house while that of their father was found hanging from a tree branch,” said Makau.
The bodies have been taken to Tawa mortuary.
