ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga has tested negative for COVID-19.
Raila has been receiving covid-19 treatment at the Nairobi Hospital, where he had reportedly checked in complaining of fatigue.
Initially, the fatigue was attributed to his series of political rallies in the Coast, only for medical tests by Dr Ouma Olunya to confirm he had contacted the novel virus.
“We are happy our Party Leader @RailaOdinga has tested NEGATIVE and is out of danger of Covid-19. We thank God for that. God Bless him, God Bless Kenya,” said the ODM party.
So healthy is Raila that on Wednesday, he met the leadership of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to review “critical developments in the country.”
The meeting reaffirmed ODM’s commitment to the spirit of the Handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta that has created an environment of peace and stability required to address the pressing issues facing the country,” says ODM in a statement.
The party now calls on Parliament to fastrack the process of BBI Bill, so that Kenyans can have their final say on the envisaged constitutional changes in a referendum.
“… BBI must be subjected to a referendum because it entails a fundamental reorganisation of the architecture of the Executive and Kenyans need to have a say in the reorganisation,” the statement reads.
Among those who were in the meeting with Raila include; lawmakers James Orengo, John Mbadi, Junet Mohamed, Timothy Bosire, Gladys Wanga and ODM Sec-Gen Edwin Sifuna.
