A 24-year-old man was on Wednesday night brutally murdered in a suspected love triangle in Embakasi, Nairobi.
Henry Mburu Njeri had visited his estranged girlfriend Caroline Mutinda at her house in Charles Mberia Flats, but upon arriving, he found her in the company of two other men.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reports that Mburu arrived when the three were having fun while drinking.
Witnesses say that an infuriated Mburu demanded to know what the two men were doing in Mutinda’s house.
A heated argument ensued between the estranged lovebirds, and Mburu was fatally stabbed. It is not clear who between the three persons stabbed the deceased.
Writhing in pain, Mburu reportedly crept down the stairs from the fourth floor with blood oozing out of his neck, ostensibly to seek help. Unfortunately, he collapsed as he approached the apartment’s gate.
“When I got outside, I found many people in the compound some saying that somebody had been killed and upon moving closer, I found out that the deceased was Henry Mburu Njeri,” says Pauline Naliaka, a resident of the apartment.
Mutinda and her two guests, William Nderitu and another identified as Eshikimu, have since been arrested. They will be arraigned in court on Tuesday next week, to answer to murder charges.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing with efforts to recover the murder weapon being intensified.
