Pauline Wanja Ngara, the Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons is dead.
Wanja died at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, last night while receiving treatment. She had been admitted at the facility for seven days.
Wycliffe Ogallo, the Commissioner General of Prisons, described Wanja as “most dedicated, committed, promising, dependable, results-oriented and gallant Director.”
Wanja was the Director of Gender, NGOs and Sports. She was based at Prisons headquarters in Milimani, Nairobi.
According to the condolence message from Ogallo, Wanja served at the Kenya Prisons Service almost throughout her adult working life. “As a leading figure in the struggle for the betterment of KPS, the late Pauline’s legacy undoubtedly positions her as one of the Service’s greatest, a gallant lady who made KPS immeasurably better.”
Ogallo condoled the family and friends of late Wanja. “While they undoubtedly grieve her passing on, I wish to assure them that she lives on in the hearts of those who benefited from her servant leadership. May the late Pauline Wanja Ngara rest in eternal peace.”
