A video has emerged of a Kenyan couple trading insults over infidelity.
In the seven-minute long, undated video, the couple is unabashed as they fling unprintables to one another in the presence of two of their children.
The children are all-the-while busy dressing up for school inside the family’s sprawling living room. “As a parent I think this is totally unacceptable,” former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who has since deleted the video from his timeline said. “Jameni is this world coming to an END ama ni nini?”
The wasp-angry woman in a dark-red, striped dress alleges that her husband is involved in a romantic relationship with a love rival she calls ‘Mumbi, posing, “kwani hana k*** kama mimi?”
The unprintables, delivered in a rich accent from one of the Eastern counties, continue to fly as the husband records her from a mobile phone. She paces up and down in obvious fury, bedraggled from the previous night’s sleep.
“How does a man dare call his wife a prostitute in presence of his own kids? Who is to blame here? The wife or the husband?” posed Sonko.
By any standards, the family looks relatively well off. The living room is tastefully-furnished in Victorian-style seats and a glowing gypsum overhead. When the tiff is over, the children jump into a white soft-roader and are driven to school by their father.
But not before another sprinkling of insults whereby the woman is labelled “thief” and alleged infidelity with a Gusii lover.
