A Japanese man has been arrested for fraud after dating thirty-five (35) different women at the same time, in a scheme to get ‘expensive’ birthday presents from them throughout the year.
Takashi Miyagawa, 39, was arrested by police in Thursday, April 22 after it was discovered that he wooed the women into a relationship and told each one of them wrong birth dates to receive the gifts.
How he executed the fraud
So witty was the part-time salesperson that he spread the wrong birth dates throughout the year, and deceived each of the women that theirs was a serious relationship that could lead to marriage.
For instance, according to Newsflash, Miyagawa told his 47-year-old girlfriend that he was born on February 22. He told another ‘lover’ that his birthday is in July, while the other was fooled into believing that his birthday falls in April. His actual birthday is November 14.
Miyanga had just received a gift worth KSh100,000 from one of the ladies before he was caught.
The victims filed a complaint with the police in February, with investigators believing there could be more victims who fall for the scam.
