Kenya has suspended all passenger flights travelling from India for the next 14 days.
In a statement on Wednesday, April 18, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the ban takes effect at midnight Saturday, May 1.
The ban comes amid the Asian country reporting record numbers in COVID-19 infections and deaths.
UK, France, Canada, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Oman and Singapore are other countries that have either banned travel to or from India.
Of late, India has been recording at least 300,000 COVID-19 cases and at least 2,000 deaths daily.
On Wednesday, the country recorded 360,960 new cases and 3,293 new fatalities.
