Nineteen people have succumbed to COVID-19 according the latest updates by the Ministry of Health. The country’s total death toll now stands at 2,707.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe says 495 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus from 4,929 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The country so far had 158,821 cases from the 1,664,435 cumulative samples.
Of the newly-reported cases, the youngest one is one-year-old while the oldest is 96. A total of 1,250 patients are admitted in various hospitals countrywide, while 6,822 others are under home based care.
Kagwe says 242 patients have recovered from the disease with 191 from the home based care and the rest from various health facilities. In total, 108,124 patients have recovered from the virus since the was infection was reported in March 2020.
MoH says the uptake of the vaccine is improving, with 865,897 Kenyans vaccinated so far.
