The long-awaited ‘Men’s Conference’ premiered on TV47 last night.
Viewers were treated to a lively debate on topical men’s issues in a show hosted by a lady ‘Archie’ (Sharon Archie), and her all-male panel of Chicco Lucarelli – (Mr. Black Pepper), Denver B (The Unreal Kevin James) and Preston Jane 1 aka the ‘Fine Latte’.
The show was broadcast at 10pm. It will be regular on the TV station, and replaces the ‘Garden of Eden’, which run its course.
The premier edition focused on the idea of the alpha male.
The general idea of a ‘Men’s conference’ in Kenya started as a joke on social media a few years ago. It was mooted by a bunch of men joking that women wanted to fleece them on Valentine’s Day. Suddenly, references were made of men who don’t vouch for ‘equality’ with sprinklings of the obvious neglect of the boychild thrown in for good measure.
Inimitable Jackson Kibor
The idea of a physical (or virtual) conference was mooted. The inimitable Jackson Kibor, Eldoret-based Uasin Gishu billionaire farmer who raison d’être – at least by online standards- was to champion for the boychild was named chairman.
It never quite materialised until the birth of The Mens Conference on TV47.
Last evening, the panelists explored the reasons as to why relations between the sexes are so fraught. Why have men resort running to safe spaces of men’s empowerment conferences?
