A second body of the four men who mysteriously disappeared on Monday, April 19 has been found in Thika, Kiambu County.
The body of Benjamin Imbayi, 30, was found in a thicket in Thika and taken to General Kago Funeral Home.
Earlier today, the body of Elijah Obuong, 35, was found in Murang’a County Referral Hospital morgue.
Obuong’s younger brother positively identified the body in the morgue as that of his elder brother at around 10:40 am. The body had no visible injuries.
Just like Imbayi’s body which was booked at General Kago on 20th April, records indicate that Obuong’s body was booked into the facility on April 20, just a day after they went missing.
The deceased and their two other friends, Brian Oduor, 36, and Jack Ochieng, 37 are alleged to have had a meal at a Kitengela bar, before their disappearance.
The management of the bar has since denied that they were there.
Club Enkare manager Bernard Monda says they are reeling from negative publicity. Media reports indicate that Benjamin Imbai, Brian Oduor, Elijah Obuong and Jack Ochieng’ feasted on Nyama Choma and sloshed on beer at the club before disappearing in thin air. Their Toyota Mark X car registration number KCQ 715C was reportedly found in the club’s precincts.
“After following through our CCTV footage, we did not spot any of them or the car. Since the President ordered closure of bars and restaurants, we have not been selling alcohol to anyone. We only do food takeaways,” Monda said.
The quartet was allegedly at the bar between 9:40am and 11 am on the said day.
“Our CCTV footage reveals that only one person was seen around that time parking by the bar, then driving off a few minutes later, in a different car from the alleged Toyota Mark X. We do not know what attire they wore,” the club’s ICT manager Joab Mukuru said.
At around 4pm, the CCTV footage reveals, there were other vehicles parked outside the lounge. The Mark X was nowhere in sight. Detectives based at Kitengela Police Station say the car was found unlocked, and that the missing men’s phones went off somewhere around Everest Park, Mombasa Road.
Imbai, one of the missing men, has been on DCI’s radar for sometime over crimes including theft of KSh900,000 from a parked car in Ngong Road, Nairobi.
Family members of the men are demanding for the arrest of a mysterious character named “Ericko” who has been revealing queer information relating to their disappearance through Facebook.
In one of these pieces of information, Ericko claimed that the men are dead.
