A 48-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after swallowing four sachets of heroin to avoid being arrested.
Pauline Mugure, a suspected drug peddler, swallowed the sachets in a haste, after detectives based in Voi, Taita Taveta County, arrested her at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, after suspecting her of drug trafficking.
Detectives rushed her to Moi County Referral hospitality in Voi for medical examination.
Further search in her house located at Maweni estate led to the discovery of more sachets containing the illegal substance. A month ago, a man was arrested with three kilograms of ‘a powdery substance’ believed to be heroin.
Heroin has become easily available
Ordijhe Mike who was to travel to Italy via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was detained, pending a thorough analysis of the product.
