A police officer in Nakuru County is mourning the death of her three children and a house help after fire broke out in her house.
The officer, attached to Elementaita Police Post, had just moved into the rental house in Florex area, Nakuru East, three days ago.
Nakuru East Sub-County Deputy Police Commander Phanton Analo, confirming the incident, said the three children and the house girl were burnt beyond recognition.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known but Analo says there was a black-out at the time the fire broke out.

Joseph Mwangi, a resident, said the family moved into the house at the end of April.
Mwangi said residents saw a dark smoke coming from the house at around 10 pm but because there is a high perimeter wall, they could not access the compound.
“The gates were locked and we had to bring it down to help put out the fire. It was too late. We did not know there were people inside the house until after the fire was put out an hour later.”
