A man died in a road accident on Wednesday night after his vehicle rammed into a truck along the Southern Bypass in Nairobi County.
According to Lang’ata OCPD Benjamin Mwanthi, the driver of the BMW X5 was speeding when he lost control and rammed into the rear side of the truck, where its dashboard got stuck under the rear wheels of the lorry.
“We suspect the driver of the BMW was speeding on the fast lane, when he crashed into the rear part of the loaded lorry,” Mwanthi said.

The driver died on the spot and his body taken to City Mortuary. The wrecked posh car has been towed to Lang’ata Police Station.
Mwanthi further refuted speculations that the accident might have been caused by poor lighting, saying that lighting along the area, which is adjacent to Wilson Airport, is controlled to avoid misdirecting planes.
