June Ruto, daughter of Deputy President William Ruto, was on Saturday, May 8 engaged to his fiancé, Nigerian Alexander Ezenagu.
DP Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto hosted the Ezanagu at his Karen residence. The in-laws had travelled from the West African nation, to seek June’s hand in marriage.
Businessman and Nigerian politician Osita Chidok was the negotiator at the bride settlement, insisting that the Kalenjin and Igbos share a lot of cultures.
“We haggled, negotiated and agreed to loud chants of Igbo kwenu! Our host Deputy President William Ruto & wife [Rachel Ruto] were excellent and look forward to visiting the land of Chinua Achebe,” he said.
Through her Twitter handle, June expressed her delight in getting “my better half”.
“He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. I thank God for the blessings in this memorable moment. Today has been important day as I get my better half @AlexEzenagu Sincere thanks goes to my dad, mom, sister, friends and all relatives,” she wrote.

So who is June Ruto’s future husband?
June’s future husband, Alexander Ezenagu, is an assistant Professor of Taxation and Commercial Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
He holds a doctorate in International Tax Law from McGill University, Canada, and a Master of Law degree (LL.M) in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
He is an Associate Research Fellow (Trade, Investments and Public Private Partnerships), at the Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (OGEES Institute), Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, Nigeria.
He is also the Founder of The Excellence Movement (TEM), a group focused on mentoring youths and promoting the culture of excellence among students.
