A 96-year-old Hong Kong DJ has retired after more than seven decades in radio.
Ray Cordeiro bid farewell to his listeners with Time to Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli.
“Well that’s it. Thank you very much for tuning in, goodbye, thank you for coming,” Ray Cordeiro said on Saturday, May 15 in both English and Cantonese before signing off.
Cordeiro’s show, All The Way With Ray, has been airing on public broadcaster RTHK since 1970.

He has interviewed music stars like Tony Bennett, the Beatles and Cliff Richard. Cordeiro has also nurtured rising Hong Kong pop stars such as Sam Hui.
In 2000, the Guinness Book of World Records acknowledged Cordeiro, affectionately called Uncle Ray, as “The World’s Most Durable DJ”.
He is known for his deep, calm voice, trademark flat cap, and easy listening repertoire.
