The bodies of two men who were allegedly pushed into River Thika by police officers have been found.
The bodies of Nicholas Maithya and Asman Kamau, both 18, were retrieved on Saturday evening.
Conflicting information between the police and relatives of the deceased have obscured facts about the incident.
Simon Mulu, Gatanga Deputy Sub-county Police Commander, alleges that the duo was fleeing from officers in pursuit of illegal chang’aa dealers when they fell into the river. Villagers on the other hand say the young men were pushed into the river. They claim that one of the bodies had handcuffs while the other bore marks left by the handcuffs.
The bodies are currently lying at the General Kago Hospital mortuary in Thika. The families are demanding for justice.
