June Ruto, Deputy President William Ruto’s firstborn daughter is set to wed her Nigerian fiancé today (Thursday, May 27).
In an invite only ceremony that will be conducted at DP Ruto’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi, June will be exchanging wedding vows with Nigerian Alexander Ezenagu.
The wedding is scheduled to start at around 11:30 am (EAT), with politicians allied to DP Ruto expected to throng the event.
Currently, DP Ruto has joined other leaders among them President Uhuru Kenyatta in attending the National Prayer Breakfast at Parliament. After the event, he is expected to witness his daughter exchanging her vows.
The wedding comes barely three weeks after June and Ezenagu got engaged. The ceremony (commonly known as Koito in the Kalenjin culture) saw DP Ruto and his wife Rachel host their Nigerian in-laws at the Karen residence.
So who is June Ruto’s future husband?
June’s future husband, Alexander Ezenagu, is an assistant Professor of Taxation and Commercial Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
He holds a doctorate in International Tax Law from McGill University, Canada, and a Master of Law degree (LL.M) in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
He is an Associate Research Fellow (Trade, Investments and Public Private Partnerships), at the Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (OGEES Institute), Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, Nigeria.
He is also the Founder of The Excellence Movement (TEM), a group focused on mentoring youths and promoting the culture of excellence among students.
