Grief and shock engulfed Mzee Wanyama area in Nakuru County after a woman, her five-year-old son and a nanny were found dead in their house.
The lifeless bodies of the three individuals were discovered at their house on Wednesday, May 26 evening. Reportedly, fire broke out in the house they were living in prompting neighbours to rush to the scene.
Eyewitnesses say that an 18-month-old baby was rescued from the fire and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Something does not add up
But something was amiss. The body of the nanny, who has been identified as Anne Wangari, had injuries that looked like those imposed by a blunt object. That of her boss, Alice Njeri, had stab wounds on the chest. It also appeared that Njeri’s son was strangled using a scarf.
Njeri’s husband Simon Kimani said the nanny was employed just 10 days ago.
Njeri, a high school teacher, relocated to the rental houses barely two weeks ago, having recently been deployed to a nearby school. She reported to her new place of work on May 19, 2021.
It is emerging that before the incident, an unidentified woman had inquired about Njeri’s house number.
