Two families from Gakuyu village in Kiharu, Murang’a County, are living in agony after their two teenage daughters disappeared mysteriously on the same day.
Mercy Waithera and her friend Clarin Njeri, who are both 17 years, went missing on Sunday, May 23 and since then, all efforts to find them have proved futile.
Waithera and Njeri are Form Two and Form Three students at Mukurwe Wa Nyagathanga Secondary School respectively.
Girls were last seen in a church
On the fateful day, the teenagers reportedly told their guardians that they were going to church, never to come back. The last place they were seen was at ACK St. Marks Kabui Church.
They carried nothing with them as all their personal items like clothes are intact. Neither was there any reported disagreement between the girls and their family members.
The girls’ mobile phones are currently switched off. The families have tried calling their relatives to enquire about their whereabouts but to no avail.
The helpless families are now praying for the girls’ safety and safe return, urging them to hear their cries and come back home.
