Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga have mourned the passing of ex-Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile.
Kalembe died at the Nairobi Hospital today at the age of 57.
“Mheshimiwa Kalembe Ndile devoted his life to serve the people of Kibwezi,” said DP Ruto in a statement. “He was a master of equal justice who set an incredible example of service to all. He will best be remembered for his modesty, insights, independent voice and fighting for the rights of the underprivileged.”
On his part, Raila described Kalembe as “a charismatic leader with exceptional grassroots mobilization skills who also cared deeply for the underprivileged.”

Kalembe was one of the most vocal politicians from Ukambani. He represented Kibwezi constituency in parliament from 2002-2007, and later formed his own party called TIP -The Independent Party.
