Missing police constable resurfaces after 17 days, bullets lodged in his body

A police constable who went missing 17 days ago in Boni Forest, Garissa County, during an operation has returned to his camp at Basuba GSU Camp alive.

Norman Mwongera Kiunga showed up at the camp at around 9:40 am on Wednesday. His colleagues had feared the worst after his disappearance.

Upon examination, Kiunga reportedly bore two gunshot wounds – one “at the area between the elbow and the wrist,” and another in his thigh.

However, Kiunga was in stable condition. He was also armed with a Negev S/No. NG7 47xxx06 with no ammunition, and a Ceska Pistol of Serial Number F8526 with 11 rounds of ammunition.

According to the Facebook post, Kiunga was evacuated to receive treatment.
