Maureen Mung’ohe Musungu, a 23-year-old Strathmore University student who went missing on May 21 returned home on Friday, June 4, 15 days later.
According to Maureen’s brother Morgan Ambani, she walked to her parents’ Karen home, to the delight of the family who had spent agnising days searching for her.
The family says that all this time, the Bachelor of Business Information Technology (BBIT) student was locked up in a male friend’s apartment in Athi River, and was denied phone calls.
On the day that she went missing, Maureen said that she was meeting with her friends.
Maureen did not give specific information of her friends
Ambani says his sister did not give the specific location where she was meeting her buddies, neither did she disclose who they were.
“She got late that night and on my way to pick her, her phone went off at around 8.30pm,” Morgan told TV47 Digital on phone.
The family filed a missing person report at the Karen Police Station.
She was supposed to resume her classes last week after a long academic break brought about by financial constraints.
