Three Members of County Assembly (MCAs) were on Tuesday, June 8 badly injured after a melee broke out at the Kisii County Assembly.
Police were forced to lob tear gas canisters to disperse the MCAs, who had caused chaos after a disagreement over the impeachment of Speaker David Kombo.
Among those injured were James Anyona (Masimba Ward), Amos Onderi (Boochi Tendere Ward) and nominated MCA Magret Atina.
They were all rushed to Oasis Hospital where they received treatment and discharged.
The injured MCAs are part of the contingent of ward representatives that are supporting the bid to oust Speaker Kombo.
The police were sent to stem the violence in the chambers which was between two warring factions of the MCAs.
Kombo has since gone to court to stop the impeachment.
